The Coin is a real page-turner! This exciting story was born of the remarkable imagination and deep faith of a dedicated man of the cloth. Though the details are fictional, the Christian truths that are honored in this book are not. See the transformation of "Jason" from a ruthless murderer to a Christian who considers Jesus to be both his Savior, and his closest friend. You will hear the crowds, taste the food, hit the trail and run from the authorities along with your early-Christian friends.

You will witness miracles, feel the forgiveness and the love of Jesus, and rejoice as characters' faith is restored even 2,000 years later. I was moved by this inspired book. Walter Osborn's sharp intellect, clear vision and deep faith will move you, too. May God bless him, and hopefully inspire another book!

The author of this book is a personal friend. I know him as a brother in more than one way, as I too am a blind veteran. I anxiously awaited this book in a format that I could read and was pleased to find the quality of the writing most exceptional, making it an easy read. I truly feel that the Lord had a big hand on his shoulder.

The book is adventurous, suspenseful and also a love story about fictional characters whose lives are touched by the story of the coin recorded in Matthew 17:27. The coin is not presented as magical, but the lives of people are changed by remembering the love and power of Jesus. This novel is a must read and a splendid gift for any thinking person.

Brother Walter Osborn's book THE COIN is definitely a "no-putter-downer," as I read it from cover to cover, unwilling to let time be a factor in my reading. The historical and fictional elements are so artfully interwoven that the reader is continually intrigued and emotionally drawn into the story from cover to cover. The most remarkable thing to me is simply that out of the lush personal background of Brother Osborn's life and long-term marriage, he has woven such a wisely-compelling drama and candidly-spiritual message with such a delightful, God-given romance as the backdrop for all the rest. It is pure writing at its highest level, and I know of no literary "greats" in English or American literature who have surpassed Brother Osborn in this. Anyone who loves a wonderful and rewarding story could not help but love this elegant masterpiece by Brother Walter Osborn.

As a former teacher, I highly recommend Walter Osborn’s The Coin for use in high school English classes.  Mr. Osborn certainly has a command of the English language and a vast knowledge and understanding of the early Christian era.

The Coin’s major storyline is set in ancient times, but it is framed with a prologue and epilogue set in modern times.  Osborn intricately develops the psychology of his characters through sociological elements from the setting, and when the need arises, he adequately describes his characters physiologically.  The providential style and plot of the story are easy to follow.  The pace in each chapter keeps the reader engaged in the action and thirsting for more.

The themes of The Coin echo the message of Jesus Christ himself.  Mr. Osborn eloquently designed his book to include the New Testament plan of salvation without deviating from the suspense an iota.

I consider The Coin among the best of the Christian novels on the market today.  I invite you to step into Walter Osborn’s masterpiece and experience the journey of the coin and perhaps a peace and assurance that surpasses human understanding.

The Coin was a great book to relax with and dive into early church history in a way that brought it alive. A mixture of romance and adventure staged in the times of the early church, this book was easy to read and held my attention. One thing that stood out to me was the poignant relationship the characters had with Jesus as their personal friend, even those who, like us, never saw Him in person, but came to faith in Him after His return to Heaven. Thanks for the hours of pleasure and enlightenment I received as I read!

Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your book. I read it
and love it. I couldn't put it down, and now my mother has read it too.
The Coin was a sweet, wonderful story. I really loved that Jason always
referred to Jesus as his friend. I've always thought of Jesus as my
Savior and have know in my heart that He is my friend. Reading this
made me look at my relationship to Jesus in a different way. Thank you for
such a wonderful gift

This book is a work of fiction with characters as real as any author has created. It  is a short journey through the very earliest days of Christianity. While it is suspenseful and adventurous, it is also a love story like you have never read.  For those of you who  use bookshare it is now available for download.

I plan to give several of these books as gifts to special folks.

Pastor Walter Osborn’s recently released book, The Coin, may be fiction, but after reading it, I find the presentation of the characters amazing. Written about living near Jesus and the influence provided by his presence, it brings to life the beginnings of the Christian movement. The realism of the day by day events is magnificently portrayed.

When you have read The Coin you begin to wonder if
this is fictitious.  I can hardly believe it to be so.
The essence of this wonderful book is that Jesus is our friend and with a friend like Jesus we have what it takes to love, care and share.
The Coin has been an inspiration for me to know Jesus better and to trust and love Him more as it has been for many in my family who have read it.
For Asians in general and Indians in particular The Coin which is so easy to read will touch the lives of many who now will want Jesus to be their friend.

I was one of the first to read The Coin; almost four years ago, I was given a “Kinko copy” of the first draft. I was captivated. Now after many re-writes and editors, The Coin is a better story still! I did not want it to end! I fell in love with Jason, as he so wisely and lovingly led his extended family. You must have your own copy and treasure it!

I have sold almost 20 copies of this wonderful book. I felt moved to give it to a dear friend who was about to undergo a dangerous brain operation. She told me she found it both inspiring and very comforting; it helped her get through the many anxious hours before the surgery and during her recovery…. I think it would make a marvelous movie.

Thank you for sending me this beautiful book! The design of the cover is most attractive. Congratulate your artist! The story is great! And I love the characters. Peter, Paul and Barnabas became persons to me more than ever before! How in the world did you get the comment of Colleen Townsend, a movie star of '48? I remember her picture on the cover of "Life" magazine in '49! She was my idol!

Juanita Smith, Oregon

A network of friends sent a Kinko copy of the manuscript to their friend, Colleen Townsend. She was impressed and telephoned me in Atlanta from California. At her insistence, I became convinced that the publication should be undertaken. Thus the testimonial you see. If others do not know Colleen Townsend, see her website. -Walter Osborn

I was so fascinated with it that I could do nothing the rest of the day  until I had finished it. And then I did not want it to end. Please do another book, and let me know when it is published
